The E10, along with the E8, make up the ultra-small lineup of the Bobcat mini excavators, which are also referred to as “micro excavators.”
The body of the excavator weighs about 1 ton, and is only 2.2 meters tall and 71 centimeters long, which allows the vehicle to go through a standard-sized door with the operator onboard. Combined with the foldable TOPS (tip-over protective structure), it can also pass through openings with low headroom.
The E10 offers zero tail swing (ZTS) capabilities without a rear counterweight (an equivalent counterbalancing weight that balances a load), which means an operator can carry out tasks even in a compact space without damaging the walls. The E10 mounted with a breaker can be deployed to break walls or structures at interior construction sites. Previously, it was tough working indoors next to a diesel mini excavator due to emissions, especially when there is no good ventilation system. Hence, there was a growing need for a zero-emission excavator similar to an electric forklift. 없을 터.
The E10 mini excavator runs on an electric engine, making for a comfortable working environment indoors.
To cater to customers’ needs, Doosan Bobcat EMEA, in cooperation with an electric vehicle specialist, developed the new excavator, which runs fully on an electric engine that requires no diesel fuel. It has the same performance as the diesel version of the E10. It takes only about an hour to fully charge the battery, which allows for two to three hours of operating time. It is also possible to operate the machine while it remains plugged in and charging. The E10 offers low noise levels, rarely vibrates and emits no toxic gases, providing a comfortable work environment for both the operator and workers at the same site.
The prototype of the Bobcat E10 electric mini excavator received a lot of attention from visitors during Bauma 2016. There has been no announcement yet about its launch date or prices, but the E10 is expected be a next-generation product that will lead the future electric construction equipment market.
